86 Iloilo Province scholars graduated

AROUND 86 students under the Provincial Government’s “Iskolar sang Iloilo” program graduated this year.

It comprises of a summa cum laude, seven magna cum laude, 18 cum laude and 60 graduates.

A native of Barangay Agtabo in Passi City, Karen Gardose finished her studies as summa cum laude with a course of Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics in West Visayas State University (WVSU) main campus.

Magna cum laude awardees from WVSU-main were:

- Aliyah Jesena, Christian Jay Ponsica and Jessa Senope, BS Business Administration

- Glenda Palma, BS Special Education

- Emerielle Kaye Sorolla, BS in Biology

- Eljan Sumido, Bachelor in Elementary Education

- Melissa Suganob, BS Forestry in Lambunao Campus.

There were 10 graduates with three cum laude in Northern Iloilo Polytehnic State University from different campuses in Estancia, Concepcion, Batad and Ajuy with three cum laude.

There were also 14 graduates with three cum laude in Iloilo Science and Technology University of Leon (ISAT-U), Miag-ao and La Paz.

From WVSU, they have 26 graduates with a summa cum laude, six magna cum laude and 10 cum laude. It consists of campus from Main (La Paz), Lambuano and Janiuay.

The Dingle and main campus of Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) has six graduates with two cum laude.

In June, there will be five candidates from the University of the Philippines in the Visayas.

The is a one person with disability grantee of ISCOF in Dingle and 7 indigenous people grantees with 1 magna cum laude coming from ISAT-U La Paz, Leon, Ajuy, Barotac Viejo and WVSU-Main.

New Lucena Polytechnic College has 17 graduates recorded for confirmation to receive Diploma in Midwifery.

The scholars will receive cash award worth P7,000 for summa cum laude, P5,000 for magna cum laude, P3,000 for cum laude and the rest will have P1,000. (Carolyn Jane Abello)
