MORE than 20 barangay officials, majority of which have already filed their certificates of candidacy, are now being monitored by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Visayas for their alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Visayas Director III Emerson Margate said they are awaiting orders from President Rodrigo Duterte if they will announce the names of these narco-politicians.

"To the constituents of these officials who already know that these politicians engage in illegal drugs, it's better if they won't cast their votes on them. If their trademark is illegal drugs then it's better not to vote for them," Margate said.
