TWO OF the world’s leading global business process outsourcing (BPO) firms recently tied a partnership in a bid to provide better services to more clients.
ClientLogic and Sitel, both leading providers of customer care and transaction processing services in the local business process outsourcing, have combined resources in October last year. The merger was only formally announced this year.
The combined entity would retain the name SITEL and would have around 65,000 employees from the 28 countries where it conducts its operations.
Sitel has four business sites in the Philippines, and Baguio is cited as one of the best performing partners globally, Dan Reyes, the country manager for Sitel, told reporters during the formal announcement of the merger at the CAP - John Hay Convention Center last Wednesday.
Sitel has about 6,000 employees in the country and is planning to create an additional 600 to 1,000 positions in the next year, Reyes said. The company is looking for expansion areas in North Luzon and the Visayas, he added.
