Helpers cry rape vs Swiss employer

CHARGES of rape are now being readied against a Swiss national for allegedly molesting two under-aged helpers at his home in Sitio Karinogan, Barangay Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City.

SPO4 Ernesto Baustista of the Carmen police precinct identified the suspect as David Laurence who is married to a Filipina.

According to the two helpers Laurence allegedly got them drunk and then undressing them.

The two, whose names are being withheld to protect their privacy, alleged that the Swiss national would then take photos of them naked before molesting them.
Laurence vehemently denied the charges and alleged that the victims want to extort money from him.

The first victim reported her ordeal at the hands of Laurence last Saturday. She told Carmen police that before being abused Laurence told her to drink liquor.

She recounted that when she got dizzy the foreigner led her inside a room and started undressing her. She said Laurence then took several shots using a still camera before finally forcing himself on her.

"The victim was made to drink and then photographed before being raped)," SPO4 Ernesto Bautista said.

At 3:00 p.m. on that same day the second victim reported her experience to the Carmen precinct. Both their testimonies were said to be almost similar with the first victim saying she was a student working for Laurence at the time.

She said Laurence abused her seven times inside his home with the first occurring last July and then continuing until November.

Bautista said the victims kept quiet after Laurence threatened to kill the victims and their families.

"When he heard that someone ratted on him he came here to file a counter charge. The first victim was still 12 when she was abused," Bautista said.

Laurence is temporarily detained at the Maharlika mini-cell, pending the filing of charges.
