Wednesday, May 14, 2008 Speak out: No longer Jan-jan’s lawyer By Atty. Magdalena Lepiten
IT can be recalled that I have volunteered my services to Jan-jan to assist him in his case.
I came out in the media with Jan-jan and Basak Pardo Barangay Captain Dave Tumulak and informed the public that I will be the lawyer handling the administrative aspect of the case and that we will be filing a case before the Department of Health and the Philippine Regulatory Commission.
I have prepared the case sometime on April 26, 2008 wherein Jan-jan and I have signed the document and forwarded the documents to the office of Atty. Guiller Ceniza.
On May 1, 2008, Ceniza and Atty. Lao came to my office and informed me that they would prefer that it would be their law office that would handle all the cases involving Jan-jan.
I informed Jan-jan about this development on May 2, 2008.
From then on, I have withdrawn my services as counsel of Jan-jan, thus, I have not made any comments or appearances before the media with regards to the case.
