12-point agenda to highlight guv’s annual report

“TANGIBLE” accomplishments based on her 12-point agenda, among others, will highlight Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia’s state of the province address tonight at the Capitol social hall.

Likewise, Garcia will make a “vital” pronouncement during her speech at 6 p.m. today, said Jeanette Malinao, Capitol consultant on electronic and mass media. She refused to elaborate.

As of press time yesterday afternoon, Garcia said more than 800 guests were invited, including her family members, the judiciary, the academe and town mayors.

Opportunities

US Iowa State Senator Daryl Beall will also attend Garcia’s State of the Province report.

Beall will first pay a courtesy visit in the office of Garcia in the morning to discuss possible opportunities, particularly on cultural and educational aspects.

Garcia will also discuss how she successfully managed to increase the Province’s income in terms of tax collections in the past 12 months of her second term.

The governor will also take pride in her agricultural program, particularly the launching and implementation of the “Saksak,” the Capitol’s food production program aimed at averting a food crisis.

Development

Governor Garcia is also expected to tackle the Capitol’s development projects extended to several towns and barangays of the province, such as repair and pavement of provincial roads.

Garcia will also bring up how she efficiently managed district hospitals and initiated health projects and programs for her constituents in the province.

The Bogo City Choir will entertain the guests. A large projector will be displayed at the façade of the Cebu Provincial Capitol to enable the public to witness the governor’s report. (GMD)
