Street rob suspect sued
By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

ROBBERY charges have been filed in court against a man accused of robbing two women along Ponciano Reyes Street in Davao City last week.

Charged was Diomedes Taran Villahermosa, 29, a resident of Duterte street in Bucana, Davao City, after City Prosecutor Stella Esparagoza Camino found probable cause to hold him for court trial based on the complaint of the victims, Lorna Cauilan, 65, and Diosdada Tambulian Vasquez.

In an affidavit, the two women said they were walking along Ponciano Reyes at around 7:45 p.m. when the suspect blocked their way and at knifepoint grabbed Cauilan's clutch bag containing her cellular phone and Vasquez' cellphone and P5,500.

Their shouts as Villahermosa tried to flee prompted passing motorcycle-riders to give chase resulting in the suspect's arrest.

Camino recommended bail of P100,000 for the respondent's temporary liberty.
