All set for BIMP-Eaga senior officials meet

ALL is set for the 15th Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (Bimp Eaga) Senior Officials Meeting next week.

The Mindanao Economic Development Council, the main organizer of the event, together with the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. and the Mindanao Business Council bared Monday the lineup of activities for the weeklong event.

Updates on the Kadayawan Festival 2007

The event starts with a golf tournament that will tee-off at the Apo Golf and Country Club with the various business and country delegates of the participating countries. The tee-off is slated on October 21.

Next would be the Mindanao Investment Conference from October 22 to 23 at the Marco Polo Hotel. The conference is aimed to provide business matching among the participants.

The 2nd Bimp Eaga Chief Minsters, Governors, and Heads of Local Governments Forum is slated on the 23rd and 24th of October at Koronadal City. The forum aims to provide a venue for heads of the local government in the Bimp Eaga sub region to discuss how they can enhance their roles.

Also to be conducted simultaneously in Davao City is the two-day Bimp Eaga Information and Communication Technology Congress at the NCCC Mall on October 23 to 24.

A Bimp Eaga Media Roundtable Discussion is also slated on the 25th of October to discuss with its media counterparts the mechanisms of news exchange in the sub-region.

The highly anticipated Bimp Eaga Senior Officials Meeting and Ministerial Meeting are slated on October 24 to 26 at the Marco Polo Hotel. During the two meetings, the chairmanship of the sub-region would be transferred from Malaysia to the Philippines.

And to cap the weeklong event is the Davao Trade Expo and Bimp Eaga Trade Exhibit at the NCCC Mall on October 25-28. The exhibit would showcase various products and services from all over Mindanao and Palawan as well as from participants from the member countries in the sub-region.
