The victims' bike was said to be negotiating a curve road at Purok 3 in Barangay Ngan when their bike crashed.

On the opposite side of the road, a truck driven by one Ruel Santiago was passing by just as Saldua's bike crashed. The truck ran over Saldua, killing him.

Saldua's remains were brought to the Angel Funeral Homes while Gloria was brought to the St. James Hospital in Poblacion Monkayo where he is now recuperating.

The truck's driver meanwhile voluntarily surrendered to the police authorities and is now under custody.
