Davao FC nails down U-17 plum

THE Davao United Football Club (FC) team A blanked Liceo Titans, 3-0, to pocket the under-17 girls title at the close of the CMOFA Football Festival held Saturday at the Pelaez Sports Center in Cagayan de Oro City.

The Davao United FC-B, however, finished fourth after bowing to Abba's Orchard School Ridgeback in a penalty shootout.

Davao's champion team was bannered by Southpoint School's Eula Loi Baltazar and Maranatha Lopez, Ateneo's Jasmine Matalam, Isabel Martinez and Maan Cadayona, Holy Child School of Davao's Raylyne Tale, Cherry Mae Vilchez, Joy Rivera, Elaine Bioc, Leslie Gabo, Rachele Uy, Roxanne Gonzales and July Ann Bunac and Emar Learning Center's June May Bunac and Alvin Rose Pardillo, among others.

Davao City councilors Mabel Acosta, Leonardo R. Avila III, Ricardo Cabling, Louie John Bonguyan, Susan Isabel C. Reta and SK Federation president April Marie C. Dayap sponsored the team's stint in the 7-A-Side bootfest managed by CMOFA secretary general Percy Guarin.

The Iligan FC topped the 35-above category over Sabado Club A and B teams while Hillisiders FC ruled the men's open as against Sabado Club, BAO-Breakers FC Iligan and Montecarlo.

The women's title went to LFC Blue in the meet. (MLSA)
