Dizon golf tourney set at Palos November 10
By Marianne Saberon-Abalayan

A P1 million hole-in-one cash prize will be up for grabs when the 1st F.S. Dizon Charity Golf fires off November 10 at the world-class Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Indangan, Mandug.

Tournament spokesperson Joe Marfori made the announcement during the regular Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum Thursday at the Tower Inn.

"This is the initiative of the family to continue the legacy of the late Francisco S. Dizon in helping his four favorite charitable institutions. During his time, he provides a certain amount every year to give to these charities," Marfori said.

"His family wants to raise more funds to be able to give more, thus, the holding of this golf event," Marfori added.

The beneficiaries of the 36 scoring format competition for class A, B, C, and D players are the Davao Medical Center, Missionary Sisters of Charity, Bahay Pasilungan, and Maharlika Charity Foundation.

Marfori said they have invited golfers from Manila and Cagayan de Oro, but he expects local golfers to comprise the main bulk of participants.

Some 200 golfers will be around for the event, which, Marfori said, they hope to stage every year from now on. Registration fee is P2,000 inclusive of mulligan.
