Friday, April 18, 2008 Garcia: Immelman wins The Masters; Tiger Woods finishes second By Imee garcia
LORENA Ochoa, after winning this year's Nabisco Classic Golf Tournament, decided to take a quick break and spend some time at very exclusive resort by the ocean.
Dana, a famous actress, was in the same resort at that time and asked Lorena if she could give her some golf lessons.
Being the sweet lady that she is, she agreed and gave her a quick lesson in golf. At the end of the day, Dana had blisters on her hands and muscle pains all over and she told herself that golf isn't for her.
After much thought, she decided to get into tennis. The next day, she walked over to the tennis courts and looked for Rhonnie Custer, the resort's best tennis pro. Upon meeting the charming, gorgeous and very sexy tennis pro, Dana asked, "What's the difference between tennis and golf?" Without hesitation, Rhonnie replied: "The difference between tennis and golf is that... Tennis is murder... you just want to kill the other player. Golf, on the other hand, is suicide... you just want to kill yourself."
Dana, who was aching all over, replied: "I totally agree with you."
The Masters. This is one of the world's four major tournaments in golf, and known to be the most prestigious. It ended last April 13, 2008 at The Augusta National, Georgia, USA.
As you know by now, Trevor Immelman, a 28-year old South African won the tournament by a margin of three strokes against Tiger Woods. Cink and Snedeker were tied for third place. Tiger did not play so well. You could tell how frustrated he was during the first two rounds. He was seen on camera throwing his club after a poor shot. But he played much better in the last two rounds.
Immelman, on the other hand, played so well during the first three days of play. On the last day, he stumbled and scored a +3. It was probably nerves, and I know how that must have felt. But the good thing is that he had a big margin after the first three days, and he was able to maintain his lead until the final round. It's nice to see an underdog win a major once in awhile.
Golfer 1: What's a good example of "mixed emotions"?
Golfer 2: Your terrible mother-in-law driving her car off a cliff with your golf clubs in the trunk.
