It launched Davao Oriental's Center for Promotion of Investment and Trade or C-Point.
It also launched the Enterprise Promotion and Development Program of the Davao Oriental Eastern Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DOECCII) as well as highlight the culmination of the consultations on trade and industry development services with the various municipal and local government units (LGUs).
The consultations were initiated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao Oriental.
The launching of the C-Point was led by Davao Oriental Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon.
The C-Point concept came about as a response to the need to promote and fully maximize Davao Oriental's vast potential for industry and investment development.
The present administration is cognizant of the need to take a more focused, concerted and aggressive stance in promoting and building Davao Oriental into an attractive investment destination.
This is done by leveraging on the province's advantages, creating a business-friendly environment and providing a reliable support facility for investment promotion and investor servicing.
Another highlight of the provincial convergence is the formal turnover of a P1 million fund by the city government of Mati through Mayor Michelle Marie Denise N. Rabat to DOECCII for the latter's Enterprise Promotion and Development Program.
The program aims to provide assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises through capacity-building and benchmarking activities, the Development of One Barangay One Living and Successful Entrepreneur (Dobols-E) project and MSME participation to trade fair and exhibits.
