Daboy rushed to hospital

ACTOR Rudy "Daboy" Fernandez was rushed to a hospital in San Juan City Tuesday.

The actor was complaining of having lower back pains while undergoing therapy, according to a GMA news report.

Last Saturday, the actor was confined at the Capitol Medical Center while his friends and supporters offered a healing mass for him at the Christ the King Church in E. Rodriguez, Quezon City.

He later transferred to an undisclosed hospital in San Juan due to his back pain.

One of the staff in the hospital however allayed people's fears saying: "There is nothing to worry about Fernandez's health condition as he is just resting to regain strength."

Rudy's wife Lorna Tolentino continues to take care of the actor in a suite hospital room where he is recovering.

Daboy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is now undergoing therapy.

Among those who attended the mass last Saturday were Mark Anthony Fernandez and his wife Melissa Garcia; his close friends in showbiz Phillip Salvador, Rez Cortez and Ricky Davao.

Tirso Cruz III, couple Johnny Delgado and Laurice Guillen, Susan Roces, Gloria Romero, Roy Alvarez, Lloyd Samartino, and Armida Siguion-Reyna were also present. (JRDB/Sunnex)
