Pangasinan: Barangay candidate killed (8:10 p.m.)

PANGASINAN--The Tayug police are investigating if the recovered empty shells from the shooting incidents on October 3 and last Tuesday came from the same gun and fired by the same suspects.

At 2:15 p.m. last Tuesday, a candidate for barangay leader in the town was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men.

The victim was identified as Jaime Tolentino Sr. alias Boy Hapon, 56, furniture maker, of Barangay Carriedo, Tayug.

Tolentino’s 24-year-old-son Marlon was injured after he was hit in the leg by stray bullet.

Jaime sustained five gunshot wounds in the chest and stomach. He died at the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital based in the town while he was undergoing medical treatment.(LCMY/Sunnex)
