Operatives led by Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO) and Sultan Kudarat Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested Tongan Fatima on Saturday in a remote village in Libungan town in North Cotabato.
Tongan is in the wanted list since 2006 for his alleged involvement in the series of bombings in Central Mindanao that killed and injured several people.
Superintendent Joel Limson, chief of the Tacurong City PNP, led the manhunt operations that resulted to Tongan's arrest.
Tongan, according to intelligence community reports, masterminded the bombing in Tacurong City sometime October in 2006. He was also tagged as one of the Al Khobar financiers.
Badrudin Guiasilon, an Al Khobar member arrested sometime August last year, said in his extrajudicial confession that it was Tongan who paid him sums of money after each bombing.
Tongan was also mentioned in Musali Calo's testimony, the third Al Khobar man who was arrested last February 21.
Tongan was captured a week after Calo's arrest. He was turned over to regional PNP director Felizardo Serapio in General Santos City.
